Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, faculty, donors, and other stakeholders as an integral part of supporting Mississippi State University’s vision for Teaching, Service, and Research on campus.

Train and mentor graduate assistants and undergraduate student workers in regard to archival theory and practice.

Arrange, describe, and preserve archival collections according to national professional standards.

Represent MSU University Libraries through teaching, service, and research on campus, locally, state-wide, nationally, and internationally.

Deliver archival instruction sessions that promote archival literacy skills and support the instructional and research goals of students and faculty on campus.

Collaborate with other library departments and campus entities to care for and promote library resources and programming.

Arranged, inventoried, described, and preserved cultural objects documenting the history and legacy of Abraham Lincoln.

Implemented a cataloging standard – Cataloging Cultural Objects (CCO) – for streamlining the workflow for describing the collection’s contents.

Redesigned the collection’s resource management system, FileMaker Pro, to function with CCO descriptive fields.

Worked with the Digital Preservation and Access Unit to develop digitization priorities and capture metadata for digital objects.

Taught English 0103: Basic English Composition. Students learned the foundations of writing such as the rules of grammar and how to craft paragraphs.

Taught English 1103: English Composition I. Students learned the principles of writing essays, the components and applications of the rhetorical triangle to argumentative writing, and academic honesty and citation conventions. Instructed an ESL (English as a Second Language) section of EN 1103 in Fall 2014.

Taught English 1113: English Composition II. Students learned the basic principles of crafting research papers such as using academic databases to find sources and forming a review of the literature. Students also learned how to write in response to smaller pieces of literature.

Taught English 3423: Descriptive English Grammar to junior and senior undergraduate seniors. Students learned basic principles of English usage and engaged in sentence analysis through the use of diagrams and syntax trees.
