Welcome
to my portfolio!
Since graduating from college in 2008, I have committed myself to scholarship and teaching. I hold a BA in English Education from Mississippi University for Women, a MA in English Literature from Mississippi State University, and a MLIS with a Grad Certificate in Archives and Special Collections from the University of Southern Mississippi. In addition, I have taught various English language arts and grammar courses both in the secondary and post-secondary learning environments. Currently, I serve as the Curator of Material Culture at Mississippi State University Libraries at the rank of assistant professor. Research — particularly in the academic setting — is what initially drew me to librarianship. I have a passion for learning, and I enjoy instilling that passion in others and connecting individuals with the information that they need. I strongly believe that libraries and archives have the ability to empower their communities, and I hope to assist in carrying out that mission. Please feel free to browse my portfolio for more information.
